Club History
We opened our first 1,500 square foot personal training studio in 1998, on Arroyo Parkway, in Pasadena. After three years of solid growth we moved into the second location, 87 Fraser Alley, in Old Town Pasadena. The Old Pasadena facility was designed to optimally enhance the personal training and Pilates experience. We spent 6 years in that location before making the move to our new 14,000 square foot upscale fitness club.
Pasadena's pristine view of the San Gabriel Mountains is the back drop of the club's newest location. The new Breakthru is hip, modern, classy, and state-of the-art, with a beautiful balcony that enhances the abundance of privacy and natural light. With ample free parking in a very central location to Pasadena residents, this newest addition to the Shops on Lake is located on the 2nd level, next to Trader Joes, on the corner of Lake and Del Mar.

Group Exercise
Breakthru Fitness owner Michelle Dozois has been creating cutting edge group fitness programs for health clubs in the Pasadena area for over 15 years. Together with her husband Phil Dozois they have over 25 years of experience in the fitness and health industry. As a former National and World Aerobic Champion and Award Winning Fitness DVD star, Michelle knows first hand what it takes to bring out the best in others.

- Spinning - Breakthru offers cycling classes to fit everyone from Spinning veterans to those wanting to learn the basics of indoor cycling. All classes are taught on state of the art equipment to ensure maximum results.

A Breakthru Trainer will take you through your personal program giving you constant technique monitoring, motivation, and an increased commitment to your workout. You will work out harder, consistently, and more efficiently than you would on your own.

Custom tailored one-on-one training programs are designed to achieve your desired results.
- Partner Training (2-3 clients sharing a 60 minute session)

Although Breakthru specializes in 1 on 1 personal training, we also offer small group training for groups of friends who would like to workout together.

Our Approach: Your private Pilates sessions are all about you. We address your level of fitness, your goals, your challenges and your individual needs. We then design a specific program for you, your body, and your lifestyle. Not only will you look better, you'll feel better!
One of the safest and most effective exercise programs available, Pilates comprises hundreds of exercises, which allow workouts to be customized to meet participants' individual needs. The neuromuscular technique tones and lengthens muscles, increases abdominal and back strength, improves posture and body mechanics, reduces joint and lower back stress, balances flexibility with strength, and reduces stress and tension. The smooth, almost dance-like motions, with an emphasis on proper breathing, leave participants feeling refreshed rather than exhausted.

Both of our SOLUTION based programs include both a comprehensive nutrition plan as well as an exercise routine that will help you take control of your weight, your health and your life! Small Group Training
A Smart and Affordable Way to Achieve the Results You Want
- ATC-Adult Total Conditioning If you are looking for a change of pace from your typical workout, this is it. Calorie burning sports drills make this invigorating workout fun. ATC-Adult Total Conditioning sessions are paid with a flat monthly fee and are not transferable to the following month. Members $49. Non-members $99.
- Pilates Group Equipment Classes can be paid with a drop in rate of $35. per session, if space is available. Monthly rates are recommended as space is limited to 5 participants. Flat monthly fees are not transferable to the following month. Sessions may be purchased monthly for 1 or 2 times a week. 1x a week for 4 weeks is $120.00 2x a week for 4 weeks is $240.00 Non member rate is $40. a class with no prepaid package discount.
- Young at Heart classes are designed for seniors wishing to improve balance, mobility, posture and bone density. All young at Heart classes can be purchased on a single session rate basis for $30.00 per session. Young art Heart classes are available for members and non members.
- FREE Pilates orientation, learn the fundamentals; breathing, pelvis placement, core strength, deep & supported control of movement. Experience Pilates equipment, targeting both its ability to assistance and/or challenge the exercises done on it. Sessions are limited to 5 people, first come, first served. Sign up at the front desk. Be prompt when attending, as we’ll provide two back up positions—ready to take those unfilled spots.
