Warming Up - The Foundation For Success
This style of warm-up involves ground based calisthenics and choreographed movements that increase blood flow and temperature, improve flexibility, speed and strength, decrease the chance of injury and help to perfect on the field running technique.
Speed Is A Skill
Just like most sport movements involve a best technique, so does running, cutting, landing and stopping. Let us share our signature techniques that improve speed of movement.
Body Weight And Core Training
Body Weight and core training is where it all starts. We love the chin up, push up, step up and squat as our top exercises of choice. These exercises tell an athlete how strong they are for the bodyweight they are at. This is something traditional training cannot do effectively.
About Urban Workout
Phil Dozois created this program back in 1998 with the goal of adding the "fun" back into fitness by taking the workouts outdoors. This outdoor athletic workout program combines all the necessary fitness elements (cardiovascular, strength and flexibility) together in a "play hard" format. It will be challenging. You will play hard. You will have a blast!
Progressive means it gets more challenging (sweat, pain and agony, baby!) every week. You are encouraged to do more each week as you get stronger and stronger.
If you can't run, you start with walking; if you can't do a regular push-up, we'll start you with a modified one. We offer a variety of exercises and levels of difficulty, from beginners to advanced. Everyone works out at their own level.
