Michelle recently sent out this blog and I thought you just might want to hear from someone else for a change… so I wanted to share it with you, enjoy! – Phil

I wake up every morning incredibly thankful to love what I do for a living. My true passion is to help YOU live a healthier life and reach your fitness goals, whatever they may be. I have been blessed to help thousands of people see success in reaching those goals and it never ceases to amaze me, and touch my heart when I hear your personal stories.

In a recent blog, “8 Ways to Beat the Blame Game” I talked about the stories we create for ourselves that often times hold us back, encourage negative thinking or become our excuses for why we can’t do something. We have all fallen victim to the “Blame Game”, and if you find yourself stuck in that rut, I encourage you to read that blog post. But, what I am thrilled to share with you now, are stories of success, empowerment, encouragement, and overcoming obstacles.

These stories are not of super-heroes or of those women we see on social media in bikinis with six-pack abs, they are of women just like you and me – moms trying to juggle family and work, the working woman who just wants to find time to squeeze in a workout, the woman who’s faced with a slowing metabolism and wants to lose those extra 10 pounds. These success stories are of women no different than YOU!

I’d like you to meet Amber. I met Amber at my health club, Breakthru Fitness, almost 8 years ago. She was a member of the gym who loved taking group fitness classes, so I would often times see her in my classes and it was only a matter of time before we got to talking and became friends in fitness.

This is Amber’s personal story of success:

In late 2009, my husband and I made the decision that we’d like to start trying to have a child within the next year. I had been working out with Michelle at Breakthru Fitness for over a year at that point and mentioned to her that I really wanted to lose 10 pounds before getting pregnant and having a baby. A few weeks later, she approached me with an offer – she was starting a new fitness program in the club and needed some folks to try it out, and asked if I would be willing to give it a shot.  It sounded interesting, and I thought that it might just help me lose a few pounds and get healthier before trying for a baby. I was in!

As you might have guessed, that new “fitness program” was the very first round of what she now calls Peak 10. And it was one of the hardest, and most rewarding things I’ve done in my life. For 8 weeks, I faithfully attended the Peak classes, followed the nutrition guidelines, changed my eating habits…AND, the icing on the cake…I lost 15 pounds and 3 dress sizes!!!  I immediately signed up for the next round and lost another 5 pounds while finding myself in the best shape I had EVER been in.

Peak 10 truly changed my life – I finally had the tools to maintain a happy and healthy weight while still enjoying the foods I loved. I found a group of like-minded folks that were all pushing to get healthier and stronger, and instead of competing with one another, we supported one another to reach our own personal ” Peak”. I also discovered that I was so much stronger than I ever thought possible.

It’s been almost 7 years since the first time I took on the Peak 10 challenge, and I have gone on to have 2 sons (5 years and 2 years). After each pregnancy, I was able to use the Peak program and all that I had learned during that first round to lose the pregnancy weight and get my strength back. Not to say that it was easy (ha!), but I knew that I had a fully loaded toolkit that I could use to get me back where I wanted to be. I also knew I had Michelle and a whole team of fellow “Peakers” behind me – celebrating my successes and helping to pick me up when I stumbled.

Peak 10 has been a blessing for me on so many levels, and I will forever be grateful to Michelle for taking a chance on me in her very first test group. Thank you for helping ensure that my sons have an active mom that can keep up with their crazy antics and endless requests for being chased and tossed in the air.

I think if I can do it, anybody can do it. I consider myself an average person, and I’ve lost

[and kept off] over 20 pounds and have never felt better.  Life is AWESOME!
